Getting Started

UFLIP is a web-based platform that connects licensed ticket resellers (Brokers) with independent contractors (Flippers) who manually purchase tickets from primary sources like Ticketmaster, AXS, and SeatGeek.

Think of it like Uber for ticket buying. Brokers post the tickets they want, and Flippers compete to get them. You get paid for every ticket you successfully purchase.

A Flipper is an independent contractor who manually purchases tickets on behalf of ticket brokers through the UFLIP platform. You use your own identity and accounts to buy tickets, then get paid a fee for each successful purchase.

Key point: You are an independent contractor, not an employee. This means:

  • You set your own schedule and work hours
  • You can accept or decline any work assignment
  • You can work for competitors
  • You provide your own equipment
  • You're responsible for your own taxes (no withholding)
  • You don't receive employee benefits

To become a Flipper, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a US resident (excluding California)
  • Have a valid government-issued ID
  • Pass identity verification through Plaid
  • Sign the Independent Contractor Agreement and Terms of Service

California residents are not eligible due to state labor laws. If you relocate to California while active, you must notify UFLIP immediately.

No. There is no fee to join UFLIP. We never charge you anything. You don't give us money; we pay you money.

The whole process typically takes a few hours. You'll need to complete:

  • Pre-qualification call
  • Plaid KYC (identity verification)
  • Self-paced training + quiz
  • Account onboarding

Most people complete everything in one sitting, but you can spread it out if needed.

Yes. You can terminate at any time by providing 14 days written notice. However, you remain responsible for:

  • Delivering all tickets from purchases you already made
  • Providing account access for any delayed-release tickets
  • Any outstanding financial obligations

Your account is officially closed once all outstanding tickets have been delivered and any amounts owed are settled.

UFLIP can also terminate:

  • For convenience: 14 days written notice
  • For cause (immediate): Material breach, zero-tolerance violations, failure to pay amounts owed, law violations, or if you present unacceptable risk

How It Works

Here's how the process works:

  • Watch for on-sales: Brokers post ticket requests in the Portal specifying what they want (event, section, price range, quantity).
  • Go to the box office site: When a sale starts, you manually go to Ticketmaster, AXS, or another ticketing site and try to get tickets.
  • Cart the tickets: When you find tickets that match a broker's request, you add them to your cart on the box office site. You do not complete checkout yet.
  • Submit for approval: You submit the carted tickets in the Portal for the broker to review.
  • Broker approves: The broker reviews your submission. If they approve, you complete the checkout. If they reject, you simply release them from your cart.

This is how there's no risk to you. You only complete the purchase after the broker approves what's in your cart. All purchases are made manually using your own legitimate accounts. No bots, no automation, no fake identities.

No. UFLIP provides you with a virtual card loaded with funds for purchases. You never use your own money to buy tickets for brokers.

Some Flippers also use their personal credit cards (if pre-approved by UFLIP) to earn credit card rewards. In that case, UFLIP reimburses you before your credit card due date. Any rewards or cash back you earn are yours to keep.

Additional payment methods (with prior UFLIP approval):

  • Cash App: Reimbursed within 72 hours after providing purchase receipt
  • PayPal: Requires Business PayPal account (not Personal), UFLIP-approved personal card linked, and written approval. Reimbursed within 72 hours. Zero-tolerance policy for PayPal misuse.

UFLIP requires brokers to prefund their accounts. We have the money before they make a purchase request. You're never waiting on a broker to pay—the funds are already secured on our platform before you complete checkout.

Once a broker confirms your purchase, ownership of those tickets transfers to the broker. You never own the tickets yourself.

For digital tickets: UFLIP handles the transfer using the account access you provide.

For physical tickets: You're responsible for shipping them within 48 hours of receipt using a prepaid label UFLIP provides.

You simply release them from your cart. Since the broker didn't approve them, you didn't buy them yet—they're only carted seats. No cost to you, no risk.

However, if you complete a purchase without broker approval or make an error (wrong section, wrong price, wrong event), different rules apply. See the "Your Liability" section below.

If your card runs out of funds mid-purchase, you'll need to wait for it to be reloaded. Our team monitors card balances and reloads them regularly, especially during busy on-sale periods.

Pay & Earnings

The standard rate is $3.00 per ticket you successfully purchase. So if you buy 4 tickets for a concert, that's $12.

Some events may have premium rates (higher than $3) or discounted "happy hour" rates (lower than $3). These will be clearly displayed in the Portal for each event.

You get paid on or before the 10th of each month for all valid tickets purchased during the previous month. Payment is via direct deposit (ACH) to your bank account.

Example: Tickets purchased in January are paid by February 10th.

Earnings depend on how much time you put in and how accurate your submissions are. Here's a rough guide:

  • $200 to $500/month: Very realistic with consistent effort. Most new Flippers can hit this in their first month.
  • $500 to $1,000/month: Doable, usually takes 1 to 2 months of practice.
  • $1,000 to $2,000/month: On the higher end. Typically takes 2 to 3 months of learning and consistency.
  • $2,000+/month: Possible for top performers, but takes experience.

Your earnings are directly tied to how many attempts you make. More reps = better approvals = higher earnings.

Our top performers make $5,000 to $10,000 per month. And that doesn't include the cash back and rewards points they earn from their personal credit cards.

These are experienced Flippers who've dialed in their process and put in serious hours during peak on-sale periods.

Yes. As an independent contractor, you are solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes on your earnings. UFLIP does not withhold taxes from your payments.

If you earn $600 or more in a calendar year, you will receive an IRS Form 1099-NEC.

Important: You are responsible for paying self-employment taxes, estimated quarterly taxes, and any other applicable taxes. We strongly recommend consulting with a qualified tax professional.

If you use a pre-approved personal credit card for purchases, all credit card rewards and cash back are yours to keep. UFLIP has no right to any rewards you earn.

Requirements

You provide your own equipment. You'll need:

  • A computer or laptop (phones and tablets won't work)
  • At least one additional monitor (you need to watch multiple things at once)
  • Reliable internet connection

No special software or browser extensions are required. Everything is web-based.

You set your own schedule and work when you want. However:

  • 15+ hours/week: Great fit. Plenty of opportunity to build momentum.
  • 10 to 14 hours/week: Solid. Good opportunities to learn and earn.
  • 5 to 9 hours/week: Slower start, but can work.
  • Less than 5 hours/week: Tough to make work. Most successful Flippers put in at least 10 hours weekly.

Peak buying times are Tuesday through Thursday, 9 AM to 2 PM Central Time.

Yes. As an independent contractor, you may provide services to other clients, including competitors of UFLIP. However, you must maintain confidentiality of UFLIP information and cannot solicit UFLIP's clients or other Flippers for 12 months after termination.

Account Access Requirements

Important: UFLIP requires access to certain accounts to transfer tickets and manage fulfillment. Please read this section carefully before signing up.

To participate as a Flipper, you must provide UFLIP with login credentials for:

  • Email accounts associated with your ticket purchases (so we can access order confirmations)
  • Box office/marketplace accounts (Ticketmaster, AXS, SeatGeek, etc.) used for purchasing
  • Credit card account portals (view-only, to verify transactions) if using personal cards

UFLIP needs this access to transfer tickets from your accounts to brokers. This is essential to how the platform works.

Tickets are delivered to your personal accounts (the ones in your real name). UFLIP's inventory team needs access to:

  • Transfer digital tickets to brokers
  • Verify order details and confirmations
  • Handle fulfillment for delayed-release tickets

UFLIP takes commercially reasonable measures to protect your credentials, including encryption and limiting access to authorized personnel.

You must update UFLIP with new credentials within 24 hours of any password change through the Portal interface.

Warning: Changing passwords without updating UFLIP is considered "Negligent Conduct" and can result in financial penalties if it prevents ticket delivery.

Even if you stop making new purchases, you remain responsible for any outstanding tickets in your accounts. Some tickets have "delayed delivery" and don't become accessible until close to the event date.

You must either:

  • Continue providing access so UFLIP can fulfill these tickets, or
  • Personally transfer the tickets before the event

If you refuse access and tickets can't be delivered, you become liable for the full cost plus penalties (see "Your Liability" section).

Your Responsibilities & Liability

Please read this section carefully. As an independent contractor, you bear certain financial responsibilities. Understanding these upfront helps you make an informed decision about becoming a Flipper.

You are responsible for all costs associated with errors you make during the purchase process. This includes:

  • Buying tickets for the wrong event, section, or price
  • Entering incorrect information in the Portal
  • Shipping tickets to the wrong address
  • Using an unapproved credit card or account

Costs may include: refund of your Service Fee, acquisition cost reimbursement, replacement ticket costs, and administrative fees.

Yes, 100%. You are solely responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with the terms of service of every box office, venue, and ticketing platform you use (Ticketmaster, AXS, SeatGeek, etc.).

UFLIP does not review or monitor box office terms on your behalf. This means:

  • You must know the purchase limits for each box office
  • You must understand geographic restrictions
  • You must comply with fan verification requirements
  • Violations may result in ticket cancellations for which you bear full responsibility

If your tickets get cancelled because you violated box office terms, this may be treated as Negligent Conduct with associated financial consequences.

If tickets are rejected because of your error, the Mistake Purchase Policy applies. You have 24 hours to choose one of two options:

Option 1: Keep the Tickets

  • Pay 100% of face value (no markup)
  • Tickets transfer to your personal account
  • You resell them yourself and keep any profit (or loss)
  • Available for ALL ticket types including ADA, non-transferable, and will-call

Option 2: Pay 25% and Walk Away (Transferable Tickets Only)

  • Pay 25% of ticket face value
  • UFLIP takes ownership and resells them
  • Once paid, you owe nothing more regardless of resale outcome
  • Payment plan available: 2 equal payments over 2 months
  • Not available for ADA, will-call, or non-transferable tickets

If you don't respond within 24 hours, UFLIP automatically applies Option 2 (or Option 1 for non-transferable tickets). Your maximum exposure is capped at 25% of face value for transferable tickets.

If you fail to deliver tickets (including refusing to provide account access), you are responsible for:

  • The full cost of the tickets (acquisition cost + fees)
  • A penalty of 200% of that total cost

Example: If tickets cost $500 and you fail to deliver them, you could owe $500 + $1,000 penalty = $1,500 total.

This applies to missed shipping deadlines, incorrect addresses, or withholding account access.

"Negligent Conduct" is a pattern of careless behavior that creates risk for UFLIP and its brokers. It's distinct from simple errors or honest mistakes. Specific negligent practices include:

  • Box office account mismanagement: Making multiple orders from one account in ways that create broker-like purchase patterns and trigger cancellations
  • Credential management failures: Changing passwords without updating UFLIP within 24 hours
  • Using flagged accounts after notification: Continuing to use accounts UFLIP has told you to stop using (ZERO TOLERANCE)
  • Fictitious identity use: Using fake names, addresses, or accounts (ZERO TOLERANCE - IMMEDIATE TERMINATION)
  • Communication failures: Not responding within required timeframes:
    • Critical communications: 2 hours
    • Urgent communications: 6 hours
    • Standard communications: 24 hours

Financial consequences for negligent conduct:

  • Forfeiture of Service Fees for affected transactions
  • Reimbursement of acquisition costs for cancelled orders
  • Coverage of broker penalties
  • $150 administrative fee per incident

If you owe money to UFLIP:

  • UFLIP may offset amounts owed against your future earnings or reserve
  • You'll receive an invoice with 10 days to pay
  • Late payments accrue interest at 1.5% per month
  • Unpaid debts may be referred to collections and reported to credit bureaus
  • UFLIP may pursue legal action to recover amounts owed

It depends on why they were cancelled:

  • Entire event cancelled: You keep your Service Fee.
  • Event rescheduled/postponed: You keep your Service Fee.
  • Your tickets cancelled due to your error or negligence: You forfeit the Service Fee and may owe additional costs.
  • High-Risk Event cancellation (not your fault): You forfeit the Service Fee. High-Risk Events are labeled in the Portal and indicate the box office may cancel tickets for reasons beyond your control.
  • Regular event, tickets cancelled (not your fault): You forfeit the Service Fee for those specific tickets.

Yes. UFLIP follows a formal due process procedure for negligence determinations:

  • Notice: You receive written notice of the alleged Negligent Conduct, including specific evidence and the proposed financial consequences
  • Response Period: You have 10 business days to respond with your own evidence and arguments
  • Final Determination: UFLIP issues a Final Determination within 5 business days of your response
  • Appeal: You may appeal within 15 calendar days by submitting a written request
  • Appeal Review: Appeals are reviewed by personnel not involved in the original determination, with a decision within 10 business days

Important: If you don't respond within the timeframe, UFLIP's Preliminary Determination becomes final. The appeal decision is binding.

Note: Zero-tolerance violations (fictitious identities, using flagged accounts after notification) may bypass this process and result in immediate termination.

Training

Training has two parts:

  • Self-paced training: Videos, guides, and a quiz. Takes less than 1 hour. You need to pass the quiz to move forward.
  • Live one on one training: A live session where you actually purchase tickets with a trainer guiding you. Takes about 1.5 hours. This is where it really clicks for most people.

The whole process typically takes 1 to 2 weeks depending on how quickly you move through the steps and scheduling for your live training session.

Yes. Not every ticket you submit gets approved, especially at the beginning. Brokers can be picky, and that's part of the learning process.

When you're new, approval rates are usually about 1 out of every 4 attempts. As you improve, that number goes up. Months 2 and 3 get noticeably easier.
